I just want to clarify that all the writing-dictated, interactive and independent is all suppose to have correct spelling throughout with the use of white tape or address labels to cover mistakes.

I apologize if this question has been answered before, but I have a group of teachers working with the LLI Red system. Today we had a conversation about the writing. They asked it the children should have to write their independent writing reponses using correct spelling of sight words and other words they where they have worked on the spelling pattern. I know the answer for the other systems, but since they are writing about their reading comprehension someone thought it would be alright for the students to get their ideas down and not worry about spelling and conventions. Can you help me with this issue? Thank you!! Dawn

I had the same question. We do not get a lot of writing done if we are all caught up in spelling everything correctly with the red kit.
