We are starting RTII in our school in January. We are not allowed to use LLI as a program choice since it is not included on the What Works Clearing House site. Is anyone able to tell me if LLI is RTII approved? I have been using LLI for the past 3 years, and would like to continue to use it.

Can you clarify exactly what you mean by RTII, and what state you're in? "RTII" can mean "Response to Instruction and Intervention" or "Response to Intervention Initiatives" and there are various organizations that (formally and informally) approve materials for either or both. We are unfortunately not familiar with all the rules being used in all the states relating to RTI and/or RTII, but we know about some of them.

The National Center on Response to Intervention (rti4success.org) does not include the F&P Benchmark Assessment System on its "universal screeners" list, but that list is not necessarily an officially binding one. Certain features of BAS (primarily the time-consuming one-on-one assessment protocol) may make it inherently ineligible, if we understand correctly. This has minimal bearing on LLI, but may be brought up in casual conversation as a mark against F&P in general vis-a-vis RTI.

RTII means Resonse to Instruction and Intervention and I am teaching in Pennsylvania. In order to determine if the program is evidence based, we have been asked to use The Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) and The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC). LLI does not show up on either site.
