My school uses the BAS in Sept, Jan, and June. Our administration has suggested giving the Teachers College Independent Reading Assessments as interim assessments. Is this valid, to compare BAS results to TC results?
The TC assessments only give you an independent reading level and are only based on fiction. They have not developed nonfiction assessments yet. The TC assessments are good. I just have some concerns about using them to gauge progress in between the times we administer the BAS.
